Servings: 1 sandwich
Course: Breakfast, Snack
Cuisine: Indian

Ingredients

2 slices bread
50 g paneer, crumbled (about 1/4 cup)
1 tbsp chopped onion
1 tbsp chopped capsicum or cucumber
1 tbsp chopped tomato (squeeze out the extra juice)
1/4 tsp chaat masala
1/4 tsp black pepper
salt, to taste
1 tsp butter, mayonnaise or green chutney (optional)

Equipment

  • 1 bowl
  • 1 fork
  • 1 knife
  • 1 sandwich maker optional

Method

Crumble the paneer into a bowl with your fingers or a fork.
Add the onion, capsicum, tomato, chaat masala, black pepper and salt, and mix well.
Spread butter, mayonnaise or chutney on both bread slices.
Spoon the paneer mixture onto one slice and press the other slice on top.
Cut the sandwich in half. For a warm sandwich, toast it in a sandwich maker or microwave it for 20 to 30 seconds.

            Notes

Storage: Eat it fresh. Paneer spoils quickly in a warm room, so keep it refrigerated until you use it and do not leave a made sandwich out for more than a couple of hours. Squeeze out the tomato juice so the bread does not turn soggy.
